I'll tell you ....

Everydog and Girl girl,

I finally got my delinquent Mom away from the television! I am soooo behind on my blog, it's pathetic. I still have to post pictures of my tummy for tummy tag and Luckie wants to know about my favorite web sites and now Hana wants to know why I started blogging. So much to do ....

Well, tonight I am going to tell you why I started blogging because Mom still doesn't have pictures of my tummy ready and she has to think hard about the web sites. I didn't have to think too hard to remember why I started to blog though.
I looked back and I first posted on July 17th, 2006 so I am coming up on my 1st anniversary. (I'll have to have a big party!) Mom had been reading Pet Peeves, a blog by a Veterinarian named Susan somewhere in the USA. Mom found it on the internet one night when MSN gave it some sort of an award and she spent two nights reading all of the entries. She thought it was super interesting because our neighbor Miss Cindy is also a vet. Mom has always been interested in animals (she loves ME) and has thought several times that she might like to work at a vet office and she admires people like Miss Cindy and others for studying hard and becoming a Doctor who can help animals. Reading about taking care of them was very intersting.

On Susan's blog, she found a link to Isabella's blog. From there she found The Dachsies and Meeshka. She enjoyed reading their blogs a lot. She found lots more and thought we should do it too.

Blogging appealed to her (and to ME!) because there was writing and digital photography and computers involved and because it would be about ME! She figured it would be fun and teach her (and ME!) a thing or two. It would also be a fun way to keep in touch with Hershey, my best buddy. You see, he USED to live in my city and he came over almost every week.

We had sleepovers and had a toy exchange program and I taught him everything I know. (Some of it he didn't learn very well! ...... but I tried.) But before I started blogging, he moved far far away to Virginia. I live in Georgia so it is way too far to go see him every week. I want to go see him really bad now so that I can smell his new baby. I hear she smells pretty nice. Hershey says she is noisy though and takes up a lot of his Mom's time and attention and so he has not gotten to blog much. Poor guy.

Anyway, I have been blogging for almost a year now and I have made so many nice friends! I got WAY WAY WAY more Christmas cards this year than my Mom has ever gotten in her whole life! She was so jealous!

I even got a Valentine Card from Fufu. Hana made me a calendar and a ribbon necklace.

Hershey and I had our Mom's deliver cookies personally to Ivy's house. I was accepted into Meeshka's HULA organization. Mom and stayed up late and read most of Meeshka's entries during the Blog-a-thon. We've learned about sheep herding from Pippin (it's hard work and you have to be smart!) and about Singapore from Luckie (it's hot but beautiful there.) Hana nominated me for the Awesome Blog Award. I didn't win but it was such an honor to be nominated. Mom says she wishes she had time to read all of the dog blogs at DWB's. (I keep telling her that she needs to set a goal of visiting 3 or 4 new blogs a night... how hard can that be? Aren't I that important to her?) Maybe she can do it now that Dancing With the Stars is over. Gheesh!
I hear I am supposed to tag some doggies and tell them to tell how they started blogging. I tag Hershey and Ivy and Isabella.

Oh Copper, that's really neat how you and your Mom started blogging. I will have to take a look at Pet Peeves. My Mom thought about being a veterinarian but didn't pursue that path because she gets sqeemish (how is that spelled?) at the site of blood and doesn't like operations and things. But, one day, maybe she will be able to work with animals. Maybe she and your Mom can both work for a vet office one day.

It is great you are a dog blogger and have made many dog friends! I'm glad to be your friend, Copper! I LOVE your bloggy!

Hey Copper, I forgot to put in my post that you gotta tag some dogs to ask them to tell their story!

Hey Copper,
Hana has tagged me to tell my story too. I'm pretty new to blogging but it has been fun! :) I like reading your blog a lot and in fact, yours and Hershey were one of the first few blogs that I started reading.
PS : Mom says she's glad you like reading about Singapore and life in Singapore. We have more to share. :)

Dearest Copper,

Thank you for sharing your Blogging History. I wish to tell you that Yours was the Second Dog Blog my primary person ever read (Meeshka was first) and "Just Me Copper" is First on the Bookmarks List. (I am Uncertain as to what that means, but I believe it is Notable.)

I do quite like that Photograph of you at the start of your entry.

Best,
Tansy

It'a always interesting to know why dogs started blogging. J1 started my blog because I was ill and she thought it would be a good way to document my treatment and stuff. J x
