For Me??????????

Well, my Mom finally came through with cake and presents! Today was a Saturday I guess, which seems really wierd because it seems like it just WAS Saturday. I can tell it is Saturday because when it is Saturday my peepol sleep in late and do 'stuff' around the house ... not like on Sunday when they get dressed at the same time and go away .... or weekdays when they get dressed at different times and go away. Today they slept in late so it must be Saturday. Anyway, I digress..... back to the cake and presents........ Mom got me a cake and even let me have a little. She says it is not a birthday cake but a BIRTHDAY PIE. But I don't care because it is for ME and it has FOUR candles on it because I am four years old.

Mom even put raspberries and blueberries on it so it would look red white and blue and be pretty for my blog. She says today was a special day for America, something about being it's birthday too. I tried one of the raspberries and I didn't like it but the blueberry was yummy. Mom said she got a pie instead of a chocolate cake because I could have the pie. Isn't she sweet? She was going to take a picture of me eating my birthday pie but the camera batteries went dead just then. Shucks!

Then she gave me nifty PRESENTS. I got a cow dog like the Dachsies have at the farm. It has a sqeaker in it.

Mom said the cow dog looked 'tough' enough for me and reminded her of Roxie, Sammy and Andy. I think he is made of Kevlar or something because so far, I have not been able to get his stuffing out..... I hope Mom isn't dissapointed. Then she gave me some bone treats

and a real bone for my 'special recipe.' My other bone for my special recipe is worn out. She says that I like to chew so she got me presents I can chew on. I am a strong chewer I guess.

So it was a Happy Birthday for me and for America. Plus, Mom told me today that Hershey is coming in a little over a week. Mom says that I can have another birthday party when Hershey comes. How about that! My Mom ... I think I'll keep her after all.
Signed,
a happy four year old Copper

Wow Copper! What a great looking birthday pie! Did you eat it all? What was in the inside? Too bad the camera ran out of batteries. Well, I'll just imagine you eating a whole pie.... boy, I bet it sure tasted really good!

p.s. Yes, I think you should keep your Mom.

I am so happy that you got your birthday pie and gifties! We dogs don't get to have as many birthdays as humans do, so we have to make every one of them count. You got an extra special great mom to take the time from her busy life to get you gifts and a pie for your b'day.Gifts and goodies are great, but having a great mom is the bestest gift of all!

Isabella

Copper! Boy are we glad you didn't have a chance to sell your mom. She really came through with the birthday pie and the presents! We knew she loved you, she just must have been very busy or had to wait for the special present to come in. We LOVE your cowdog! He does look like the one in our picture. Now you can practice for when you come to visit.
And your mom had asked about acreage and if we were going to build. It is 19 1/2 acres and they (Mom and Aunt Bec) have an architect designing a house now. They took him to see the land on June 23rd. Mom says she might start a blog when they break ground just so she can keep track of the progress. If she does, we'll give you the link so you can watch too!

It is/was a Key Lime Pie friends. Mom and Dad like Key Lime pie. Mom said a very very very pale green pie with white icng was soooo boring for my blog, especially on the 4th of July, so she dressed it up. She was going to make me a cake on her day off but she really only likes chocolate cake and she did not want me to have chocolate cake. She thought I could have a bite of key lime pie so she got that. Isn't she the best?

Dear Copper,

I wished to add my congratulations, although Miss Pippin did so prior. Quite a lovely idea, Pie and celebrating the birthday of Our Nation as well as Copper! (Perhaps we will celebrate too, as I have heard Rumors of Blueberry Picking and Pie Making.)

To have Hershey visit as well - oh, you are a lucky Dog!

Best wishes,
Tansy
