Yes, dogs do this ....

I'm not commenting on these pages in Mom's book except to say that I don't have to pull a tab to do this either.

More on the snake .... my Dad leaves for work early and it was not really light out yet. He moved my Mom's car out from behind his car and that is when he ran over the snake. When he walked back to get in his car, he saw the snake and thought it was a rattlesnake. He put the snake in the trashcan and called my Mom to warn her in case she decided to put anything in the trash can. It was trash day and the can was at the curb. Mom naturally had to go LOOK in the trash can and SEE the snake and she took it OUT of the trash can and put in in the bushes outside my pretty fence. Then she looked it up when she got to work and discovered it was a Copperhead. All this snake moving was done with gloves and while it was dead. Mom was kinda freaked out that I had a Copperhead in my yard. When she told me, I told her I was SURE it was on it's way to attack me just like Roxie, Sammy and Andy's Copperhead tried to do. Gheesh, a dog isn't safe in his own yard. I do not like snakes.

Oh Copper...Why did your Mommy want to put that devil snake outside of your pretty fence? I would have a heart attack if I saw it even uf it was dead. Love your Mom's little book.

The dachsies are so brave...they are back outside just where that devil snake was & roaching too.
There is before and after picture of Sammy on their blog yesterday and his face looks better.

Love ya....Mona & the Mommy too!!

I am sure the snack was out to get you, Copper! It's even got the name "Copper" in the word "copperhead"! Your dad is my hero! And your mom is smart for looking up what kind of snake it was. Is it still in the bushes outside your fence? Is your Mom saving it for later?

Oops. My paws must be tired. I meant "I am sure the SNAKE was out to get you Copper."

Hana, my Mom put it in the compost pile where she puts weeds and stuff. Daddy said it would really smell bad if she put in the trash can for a week.

We are so glad you survived the snake attack! You are lucky your dad took care of it before it could get to you. There were three of us and we still had injuries. We don't even want to think what could have happened if we didn't have each other to protect us.

WHOA!! Another snake after a dacshund! Now my Mom is going to be paranoid about my dacshund sister being in th yard by herself even though there aren't many snakes in our neighborhood. Stay away from those snakes!!
