The squirrel place ....

I'm so frustrated! My Mom is trying to teach me something but I just don't understand. You see, I have this squirrel place at my house. It is outside and it is on the back of my house near the kitchen. My Dad goes out there almost every day to cook yummy food (that I don't get to eat) on a thing that gets hot. The squirrels run around out there and I can see some other dogs out there. I LOVE to go out there and bark. Well, sometimes I sit and wait by the door to the squirrel place waiting for somebody to open the peepol door and let me out. I wish I had a doggie door like some of you. Mom says I will never get one because she is afraid I am going to fall off the squirrel place, because it is high up and opens up to a place without a fence. I can't go out there by myself.

Well, when the peepol open the door to the squirrel place I bark REALLY LOUD to let the squirrels know I am coming out and I rush out of the door REALLY FAST!!! Mom doesn't like it. She says I hurt her ears. (Get over it Mom, is what I say.) So, she has started making me "SIT" and "STAY" far back from the door. Then she takes FOREVER to open the door and she expects me to "SIT" and "STAY" and WAIT quietly (what torture!) until she opens the door and says "OK." I am so frustrated! Why do I have to play these manners games when all I want to do is bark on the squirrel place?

Hmmmm .... just wait till one of those squirrels bites your Mom .. then she will be HAPPY to have you chase them away for her !!!! You're doing a good job guarding the squirrel place - don't listen to her, heh heh heh.

Copper, I think your chances at catching one of those buggers increase drastically if you stalk up to them not making any noise.... at least that's how I caught one.....

Oh Copper, Lulu feels your pain. She spends hours each night sitting in front of the back door waiting for a possum to make an appearance.

Wow Copper, I was only gone for 5 days. You sure have a lot to say for a little doglet. :-)

I am doing a xmas card exchange with the doggies on my eskie.net Maybe I will do a few with my bloggy buddies too! But first, my mom needs to take a good picture of me for the cards. I think you have an excellent idea to include Hershey on your xmas card!

By the way, I had a long car ride to Arizona and while I was in Arizona, we passed by a restaurant caled "Fox and Hound." Momma tried to take a picture of it for you, but it was too dark and we were passing by in our car.

Cairo, My Mom is trying to get my Dad to fix that deck so I can't fall off.... so I can't fall off and futrue grandchildren can't fall off. She is not having a lot of luck!

Hana, yeah sometimes my Mom thinks she needs another hobby besides me. (I disagree.) She says she is going to make a baby blanket. Does anydog know what a baby blanket is? Thanks for thinking about me on your trip!

Copper, is the baby blanket gonna be for you, or for someone else? My mom is gonna make a fleece no-sew fringe double-sided blanket for her friend. She got the fabric already. The pattern on one side will be the Cat in the Hat, and the other side is of pics from children's nursery rhymes, like the cow jumped over the moon. It's gonna be really cute! My mom made about 5 of them last year (2 for presents for the neighbor kids, and 3 for us!)

Hey Copper,

Do you know how to climb trees? Learn that and those 'Long Tails' won't have a chance. THEN, your mom will keep the door open for you so you can reeeeally take care of those critters.

My secretary says a 'baby blanket' is an itty bitty blanket that has a bunch to grow and a lot to learn. Arf! Arf!

Woof!

Copper,

Your mom sounds like she just doesn't want you to catch a squirrel. She has probably been trying to catch one for years and doesn't want you to do it before she does. That's what we think.

Thanks dog friends for all your sympathy and advice. I know I can catch a squirrel if I keep trying.

Hana, the baby blanket is for the new baby that is coming to Hershey's house. Neither of us knows what a baby is though, but we hear there will be one.

Your mom should make you a baby blanket too! You're HER baby!
